Meet Daniela- Our new instructor for Conservation and Sustainability!

My name is Daniela Solano, a Costa Rican primatologist deeply committed to the conservation of primates and the ecosystems they inhabit. My journey into this field began with a fascination for biology, which led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation. It was during this academic pursuit that I realized my true calling: advocating for the preservation of our planet’s precious biodiversity.

In 2010, I founded the Saimiri Foundation, a platform dedicated to the protection and conservation of primates in Costa Rica. Since then, my life’s work has been intertwined with initiatives aimed at safeguarding these remarkable creatures, often in collaboration with local communities. Through community engagement and education, we strive to foster a harmonious relationship between humans and primates, recognizing the interconnectedness of all life forms.

Beyond my dedication to wildlife conservation, I am a fervent advocate for human rights and animal welfare. I firmly believe that the key to effective conservation lies in embracing science-based approaches and fostering empathy for all living beings. With this ethos guiding my actions, I endeavor to promote sustainable practices that ensure the well-being of both humans and wildlife.

For the past almost 2 decades, I have called the Osa Peninsula home—a region renowned for its unparalleled biodiversity and pristine natural beauty. Living amidst such ecological richness has further fueled my passion for conservation, inspiring me to redouble my efforts in protecting this invaluable heritage for future generations.

Join me on Danta courses as we strive to create a world where humans and wildlife coexist in harmony, guided by the principles of compassion, science, and sustainability. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the preservation of our planet’s natural wonders.
